Attaching Arms and Carving Wrinkles

The next part of the "Carving the Caricature Bust" tutorial is now available on The Old Stump Blog.  Click the "Tutorials" tab above and scroll to the bottom of the page to access the tutorial.  In this part we learn how to attach arms and carve wrinkles in clothing.  It's kind of a long tutorial, but in it we finish up with the carving portion of the series.  I hope you find it educational and fun.

In the next segment of the tutorial, we will make a nice base and produce some non-wood addons to make him look really classy.  Thanks for following along with me on this carving adventure.

  4. Hi...love your work! I have a carving of two owls on branches and I would like to put it on top of a stump I have in my yard. Do you have any suggestions on how to secure the owl carving?
